Here are answers to the most common questions parents ask before enrolling their child in our theatre workshop at Pratham Path Theatre, Ghaziabad.
What age group is this workshop for?
The Junior Batch is for children in Grade 3 and above (typically ages 8+). The Senior Batch is for Grade 7 and above. Both batches are mixed gender.
Does my child need any prior experience?
No. The workshop is designed for beginners. There is no audition and no prerequisite. Children of all experience levels are welcome.
What if my child is very shy?
Shy children often benefit the most. The first sessions focus on games and group activities with no scripts, no audience, no pressure. Children open up naturally. Many of our most confident performers started as the quietest in the room.
What is the schedule?
Saturdays 4:30 to 6:00 PM and Sundays 10:30 AM to 12:00 Noon. The workshop runs for approximately 12 weeks, totalling 30 sessions.
What does the fee include?
The fee covers all 30 sessions and the grand stage production. This includes training, rehearsals, and the performance. Costumes and props are typically arranged at no extra cost.
Where are sessions held?
All sessions and the final performance are held at Nehru World School, Shastri Nagar, Ghaziabad.
Who conducts the workshop?
Sudhir Rana, founder of Pratham Path Theatre, with 27 years of theatre experience and 22 years in theatre education. He is also Creative Head at Nehru World School.
Will every child get a role?
Yes. Every child performs with meaningful stage time, dialogues, and presence. We write scripts specifically to ensure no child is a background extra. This is non-negotiable.
How big are the batches?
15 to 20 children per batch. This ensures individual attention and meaningful participation for every child.
Is there a trial class?
We do not offer trial classes as the workshop is progressive. However, you are welcome to visit and observe a session. Contact us to arrange this.
Can my child join mid-way?
We recommend joining from the start. If it is within the first 2 to 3 sessions, joining may be possible. Contact us to discuss.
How is this different from school drama?
School drama focuses on the product. Our workshop focuses on the process: building skills over 30 sessions. Every child is trained, not just the confident ones. The final show is the result of genuine development, not a rehearsed-in-a-week performance.
What will my child learn?
Confidence and stage presence, voice clarity and projection, creativity and imagination, teamwork and social skills, emotional expression, focus and discipline, and real stage performance experience.
What should my child wear?
Comfortable clothing that allows movement. No jeans or restrictive clothing. No special equipment needed. Just water and enthusiasm.
How do I register?
